Mark has been the CEO of Market Surveillance Specialists for the past seven years and specialises in providing consultancy and expert services on risk and market surveillance.
Mark previously worked in Trading Standards as a specialist in product safety for a total of twenty-eight years and has been involved in the organisation and delivery of market surveillance at the local, regional, national and international levels and has chaired both the National Product Safety Focus Group and the Low Voltage Directive Administrative Cooperation Group.
Current clients include many trading standards departments, the Chartered Trading Standards Institute, the Office for Product Safety and Standards as well as many commercial clients. He is also involved in a number of international projects as diverse as technical assistance in the Western Balkans and a twinning project in the Republic of Georgia. He is also an appointed expert on batteries, heavy metals in jewellery, electronic nicotine delivery systems, UV sanitisers and risk assessment for EU funded joint action projects across the EU and EEA in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. Mark is currently working as Key Expert in Market Surveillance for an EU funded technical assistance project in the Republic of North Macedonia and Senior Non-Key Expert in Product Safety for a project to educate manufacturers in the People’s Republic of China.
